God views sin as self-destructive and defiling. Sin is more destructive to the sinner than to the person wronged by him. Psalm 140:11 says, "Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him." Sin hunts the sinner down and overthrows him. Solomon said, "But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death." (Proverbs 8:36) Sin may be acceptable and respectable to the world, but it is very destructive to the sinner.

          God views sin as separating and alienating. Sin separates people from their money. It separates them from loved ones. But more than anything else sin separates us from God. Isaiah wrote, "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:1-2)  Sin is enslaving. It takes people to horribly low depths. It separates and it alienates you from the only one that can help!

          God views sin as a universal problem. Sin is the problem of all mankind. Solomon wrote, “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." (Ecclesiastes 7:20)  God saw the universal need of a Savior. Isaiah 53:6 says, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." All sin and disappoint our Creator. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Even Christians sin. John said, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8)

          God views sin as inexcusable. The evidence is so great that God is real to disobey Him is inexcusable. "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." (Romans 1:20) The blood of Christ is the ultimate proof of just how inexcusable sin is. "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." (Romans 5:8-9) Anything that would demand the death of God's Son for forgiveness is without excuse.

          God views sins as forgivable. The need for the entire world is to receive Jesus as Savior. Everyone needs the gospel! Everyone must accept personal responsibility for the sins and take the necessary action to be forgiven!  Through an astonishing love Christ took my sins so I could have His righteousness. "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21) His love caused Him to “become sin for us.” John 3:16 also describes the “love of God”. Of the love of God F.M. Leham wrote, "Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made; were every stalk on earth a quill and every man a scribe by trade; to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; nor could the scroll contain the whole tho stretched from sky to sky. O love of God how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure the saints and angels song." Now, thank God, sins are forgivable!
